Water isn’t the same everywhere and in some places, the water has a high mineral content. This mineral-rich water is known as hard water. While there is really nothing wrong with hard water, it does leave annoying spots when you use it to clean your windows. If this is a problem that you face regularly where you’re from, here is a tried and tested method on how to effectively get rid of them.
What You’ll Need
Luckily, the things that you will need to get rid of hard water stains are probably already on hand. All that is required is a bucket full of half water and half vinegar mixture. Here’s what you need to do.
-
Prepare the mixture and soak a clean, soft towel in it.
-
Press the towel onto the hard water stains on your window. Home improvement experts recommend that you let it sit there for a couple of minutes. The acidity in the vinegar will soften the mineral deposits making them a lot easier to wipe off. Another good trick is to let the soaked towel drape over the window.
-
Once a few minutes have passed, gently wipe on the window until the spots disappear. Depending on how long the mineral deposits have been baking in the sun, you may have to repeat this process several times.
-
Once the windows are spot-free, wipe them down with a clean rag. As an extra step to make your windows extra shiny, we recommend spraying them down with your favorite window spray.
