Our Replacement Process
Proper window replacement is a complicated process, but with Renewal® it can be quick and hassle-free. This step-by-step replacement process for replacing windows is precisely the way your project will unfurl.
Pre-Installation Custom Measurements
The process begins with our factory-trained professionals taking custom measurements in order to design windows that will fit your specific needs.
Step One: The Crew Arrives
Once our installation crew has the correct measurements, a crew from Renewal by Andersen of Kansas City will come to your house in one of our revolutionary contracting trucks. Inside, we will have everything necessary to perform your specific job, including window materials, tools, and our own power supply.
Step Two: We Construction-Proof Your Home
We understand the stress a window installation project can put on you and your household. To counteract some of this stress, our team will carefully move any furniture and valuables away from your windows and doors. Our team will even wear protective footwear to ensure no mud or dirt is tracked into your home.
Step Three: Taking Out Your Old Windows
Once our team is properly set up in your home, we will work to remove your existing windows. Our deeply experienced crew will know how to remove your windows without causing any damage to your home.
Step Four: Proper Installation Every Time
Thanks to our pre-installation measurements, once your existing windows are out our job becomes simple. All we have to do is fit your replacement windows directly into the open area, and if the area has become un-level, as is common in older homes, our team will take the necessary steps to create a level surface for your new windows. We will then test every aspect of your replacement windows, making sure that they open and close with ease and that the sashes of the window operate properly.
Step Five: Weatherproofing Your Home
There will be a small gap between your new replacement window and the frame of your house. Your installers fill this gap with insulating foam specially designed for our replacement windows. Once in place, your windows will be airtight, weatherproof, and energy efficient.
Step Six: Finishing Touches
The foam that is used to insulate your windows is not exactly visually appealing. So your installation team will cover it with trim that matches the color and style of your new windows. This trim acts as an insulator and is water resistant.
Step Seven: A Final Cleanup and We’re Out of Your Hair
When delivered, each of your new windows is covered with a protective film. Step seven involves the removal of this film, the cleaning of our work area, the shining of any glass areas, and putting your furniture back in its proper place. This completes our process, and the only difference you will see in your home is the brand new windows.
