Interior Condensation
Condensation appearing on the surfaces of your replacement windows is considered normal. It does look unsightly, but it’s not a cause for concern. Differences between outdoor and interior temperatures mean your existing windows are still keeping airtight seals. However, once they deteriorate, water droplets may soon form inside the glass panes. This issue is common in double-glazed window units and is an indication that they are no longer as energy-efficient as they used to be.
Distorted Window Panes
One of the most common symptoms of seal failure involves the warping of the window frames. The negative pressure left behind by the escaping gas fill from in between the panes can distort the glass surface, resulting in visible warping. You can determine if this is the case by wiping the surface with a clean, non-abrasive cloth. If the distortion persists, it’s time to invest in new window units.
