Contemporary Sliding Doors

Sliding doors are best for homes with modern architectural designs, with its clean lines and big glass areas. Its sliding design makes it a great choice if you have limited indoor or patio space or if your patio is wider than it is long.

Factor the rollers and the frame material into your decision when choosing sliding doors. Tracks will hold most of the door’s weight, so stability and durability are important. That’s why our sliding doors have dual adjustable, self-lubricating tandem rollers that use steel wheels with ball bearings. Frame material has to be lightweight to avoid straining the rollers but has to be strong enough to hold large glass areas. Our gliding door options, including Perma-Shield® and Narroline®, all feature thin yet strong frames for maximum viewing areas.

French Doors

French doors look best in homes with traditional architectural styles and are great for creating visual indoor-to-outdoor continuity. Traditional French doors swing inward, but other versions like our own Frenchwood® hinged and outswing patio doors are designed to open outwards. One swing direction isn’t better over the other; you just have to favor the side with the less space requirement. Our French door styles look best with symmetrically arranged grille styles like Colonial, Prairie or Fractional.

For the space-saving benefits of contemporary sliding doors while keeping the traditional looks, consider our Frenchwood® Gliding patio doors. It has the same patented track rollers used in our contemporary sliding doors, but with the same finishes and grille styles available on our French doors.

All Renewal by Andersen® patio doors feature insulated frames and energy-saving High-Performance™ Low-E4® glass. Coupled with our superior craftsmanship and an industry-leading Limited Warranty coverage, you can be confident you’re buying the best patio doors available anywhere.
